  6.     Protect! EXE/COM allows you to encrypt EXE and COM files and leave
  7. them executable. Most importantly, it TAKES A CRC EVERY TIME A PROTECTED
  8. PROGRAM IS RUN. No other program allows a CRC to be taken every time,
  9. including PKLite (R) professional and LZEXE. To protect EXE files, you
  10. need to have an EXE file compressor such as LZEXE (Free), PKLite (R) or
  11. Compack (R) to work hand-in-hand with Protect! EXE/COM.

  13.     Please read the documentation along with the disclaimer and license
  14. that are in the documentation. The documentation is only 7 pages, but 
  15. please read through it reasonable well before attempting to use Protect! 
  16. EXE/COM. Any file that you protect will have an ".OLD" backup file made 
  17. and you should make sure that the protected file runs before you do anything 
  18. with the original, because it cannot be retrieved.

  20.     The order form is ORDER.FRM and the cost is $25 for what could 
  21. easily save your programs from being "hacked" if you are a programmer
  22. because of the scrambling and the CRC taking. Please remember that you
  23. may not distribute any files that you have protected until you register
  24. for $25. If you are a Compuserve member, I am planning on including this
  25. program in the SWReg (R) automated shareware registration database, if
  26. that is more convenient for you. Registrants get support via mail, 
  27. Compuserve, limited BBS support, the ability to distribute protected
  28. files, update notices, one free update, and more!

  30.     Please read the WHATSNEW.DOC file for information on the reason
  31. for this bug fix, but it was basically caused by a NEC/286/386/486 --
  32. specific instruction which crashed on some 8088's and 8086's. Please 
  33. delete any previous copies of Protect! EXE/COM v.1.1. Thank you!
